The Grimm Audio PA1 is a high-performance Class AB monoblock power amplifier engineered to minimise the subtle dynamic distortions that can affect musical clarity, timing and realism.
Its fully balanced circuit architecture combines the natural, engaging character associated with exceptional valve amplification with the control, stability and authority of a modern solid-state design. Despite its compact proportions, the PA1 produces more than 200W into 4 ohms and can comfortably control demanding loudspeakers. The signal path contains no coupling capacitors and has been carefully optimised to achieve exceptionally low residual crossover distortion. A linear power supply, low output impedance and damping factor greater than 800 provide precise control, particularly at low frequencies. Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs are provided, while selectable 18dB and 26dB gain settings allow the amplifier to work effectively with conventional preamplifiers, high-output sources and high-sensitivity loudspeakers. An optional automatic power mode switches the amplifier on when an input signal is detected and returns it to standby after approximately 40 minutes without a signal. Comprehensive thermal, DC and clipping protection is also built in. Each PA1 powers one loudspeaker. Two PA1 monoblocks are required for stereo operation.| Weight | 15 kg |
