As hi-fidelity systems continued their explosive and rapid development in the early 20th century, designers from all parts of the world were contributing to the collective knowledge of how a loudspeaker should sound and behave. On the American offshoot of early loudspeaker history, Paul W. Klipsch was throwing his weight behind the horn-style speaker over other designs championed by his peers. In 1946, Paul W. Klipsch released his first commercial speaker, the Klipschorn, and a now legendary American speaker brand was born.
Driven by the desire to create a playback system that accurately reproduced the sound and feeling of live music, Paul W. Klipsch continued his development of horn-style loudspeakers up until his passing in 2002. By that point, Klipsch had reached numerous milestones in the company’s history, such as developing the world’s first centre channel speaker in 1957, as well as being inducted into the Audio Hall of Fame in 1983, and the Science and Engineering Hall of Fame in 1997 for the company’s contribution to the understanding of loudspeaker design.
Today, Klipsch offers some of the best and broadest choices for discerning hi-fi and home theatre customers. Their Reference Premier range deliver some of the best price-to-performance speakers available on the market, while the company’s Heritage range gives audiophiles the chance to own the most authentic and traditional horn speaker designs ever created. An asset to our product portfolio, Klipsch speakers provide a sound, a history, and a product unmatched in the audio market.
